It will be Trump’s first trip outside Washington since his inauguration Monday. Trump previously visited western North Carolina in October, shortly after Hurricane Helene shattered much of the region.
Trump mentioned the destruction in North Carolina during his inauguration speech.
“Our country can no longer deliver basic services in times of emergency, as recently shown by the wonderful people of North Carolina, who’ve been treated so badly,” he said. “And other states that are still suffering from a hurricane that took place many months ago.”
Remarks are set to start at 11 a.m. EST.
