53:42Now PlayingA group of House Democrats are set to reintroduce legislation on Wednesday afternoon that would provide recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program a pathway to become permanent U.S. residents.
The recurring bill, known as the "American Dream and Promise Act," did not make it out of committee during the 118th Congress. House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass), Rep. Sylvia Garcia (D-Texas) and Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.) will lead the 2025 charge.
The move comes as concerns mount over President Trump's fervent immigration agenda as well as his push to rescind DACA in the past.
The press conference is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. EST.
