Fiserv CEO Frank Bisignano, President Trump’s pick to serve as Social Security commissioner, is scheduled to appear for a confirmation hearing Tuesday before the Senate Finance Committee.

Ahead of the hearing, Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) sent Bisignano a letter Monday asking for his views on privatizing the Social Security Administration, a move vehemently opposed by Democrats.

Trump and his billionaire adviser Elon Musk have fueled fears of cuts to Social Security with their unsubstantiated rhetoric about fraud within the agency.

Trump promised on the campaign trail to slash Social Security taxes. However, experts have raised concerns about the costs of scrapping income taxes on Social Security checks and how the program’s finances would be impacted.

The hearing begins at 10 a.m.
