as posted by the channel

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt will brief reporters Wednesday afternoon as the Trump administration counters criticism over a recent Signal chat that reportedly included information regarding war plans in Yemen.

The chat included top Trump administration officials, including national security adviser Mike Waltz, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, among others. The Atlantic editor in chief Jeffrey Goldberg was also in the chat, according to the editor.

While President Trump and the White House have largely brushed it off as a “mistake,” the administration is facing backlash over national security implications around the breach. Goldberg earlier Wednesday released the Signal messages to the public.

The briefing is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. EDT.
