YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThe Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Aviation, Space, and Innovation is holding a hearing Thursday morning focused on the National Transportation Safety Board’s (NTSB) probe into the deadly crash outside of Reagan Washington National Airport earlier this year.
Witnesses include NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy, Federal Aviation Administration acting Administrator Chris Rocheleau and Brig. Gen. Matthew Braman, director of Army Aviation at the U.S. Army.
The hearing comes months after an Army BlackHawk helicopter and an American Airlines passenger plane collided over the Potomac River near Washington. All of those on board both aircrafts, around 67 people, were killed in the crash — the deadliest aviation accident since 2001.
The incident sparked questions around helicopter regulations from height to which airspaces they should be allowed to fly in.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
