YouTube Description
as posted by the channelFederal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell is set to give remarks Friday morning on the state of the economy, just days after President Trump announced new tariffs on nearly all foreign imports.
His comments also come after Labor Department data shows the U.S. added 228,000 jobs last month — with a steady 4.2 percent unemployment rate.
Trump has consistently argued that the reciprocal tariffs will boost jobs and manufacturing in the U.S. In the days following the announcement, however, market dips and economists’ warnings of rising prices and a potential recession have swirled.
Powell will give his speech at a conference held by the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing.
The event is scheduled to begin at 11:25 a.m. EDT.
