2:10:35Now PlayingOffice of Management and Budget director Russ Vought is set to testify Wednesday afternoon before a House Appropriations Committee panel on OMB's fiscal 2026 budget request and Trump administration's overhaul of the federal government.
The hearing comes a day after the White House sent Congress a request to slash $9.4 billion in funding for foreign aid and to public broadcasters — the first package to codify the Department of Government Efficiency's (DOGE) cuts.
Vought has also faced questions in recent weeks over how President Trump's "big, beautiful" spending package will affect the U.S. deficit and claims that sweeping cuts to Medicaid funding included in the legislation would not cause anyone to lose their benefits.
The event is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. EDT.
