The event comes amid turmoil between Trump and former White House special government employee Elon Musk. The tech billionaire recently departed the administration, where he served as a key adviser to the Department of Government Efficiency‘s (DOGE) efforts to cut down on government spending and overhaul the federal workforce.
In recent days, Musk has been a vocal critic of House Republicans’ “big, beautiful” spending package full of Trump’s legislative priorities — which he called “pork-filled” and a “disgusting abomination.” His comments against the GOP megabill have caused a rift between him and the president.
The roundtable is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. EDT.
