YouTube Description
as posted by the channelStaff at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta staged a walkout Thursday, Aug. 28, in protest of the firing of CDC Director Susan Monarez and other actions by Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
While Monarez has pushed back against her removal from the top position, several other high-ranking CDC officials have resigned in solidarity.
Kennedy has defended changes at the CDC as aligning the agency with the Trump administration's goals, and in particular RFK Jr.'s own "Make America Healthy Again," or MAHA, campaign. Critics at the protest Thursday alluded in their own signage to widespread fears that MAHA represents a retreat from science-based treatments, and in particular to longstanding vaccination programs.
