as posted by the channelPresident Trump and first lady Melania Trump will attend a ceremony Thursday morning to commemorate the Sept. 11, 2001, attack on the Pentagon.
According to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, 2,977 people died during the terrorist attacks — including 2,753 in New York City, 184 at the Pentagon and 40 on Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania.
Earlier Thursday, a large American flag was draped across the west side of the building — marking the area that was struck by American Airlines Flight 77.
Later, the president is expected to travel to New York to attend a Yankees game.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m. EDT.
