The Republican-backed measure – which passed in the House by a narrow margin in a mostly party-line vote – had been a stopgap, which would have allowed funding through Nov. 21.
Most Democrats in both chambers opposed that continuing resolution in an effort to restore Medicaid support and prevent a year-end expiration of Affordable Care Act subsidies.
