There will be two Tuesday votes considering proposals brought forth by Democrats and Republicans, respectively. Both measures are expected to fail as negotiations between party leaders have failed in recent days.
Democrats are seeking to fund the government through Oct. 31, permanently extending the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced health insurance premium subsidies and restoring nearly $1 trillion in Medicaid cuts.
On the other hand, Republicans will present the House-backed continuing resolution to fund the government through Nov. 21, a straightforward 24-page resolution
Votes are expected to begin at 5:30 p.m. EDT.
