YouTube Description
as posted by the channelFormer Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Democratic members of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition will speak with reporters Thursday morning about rising threats of climate change as the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) is underway.
COP30, an annual conference that allows world leaders to share their climate goals and iniatitives, began last week in Brazil, notably without a U.S. presence. President Trump opted not to send any “high level” representatives to the conference, with a spokesperson telling The Hill that he is working directly with foreign partners to address climate concerns — including provisions in recent trade deals.
Following the devastating wildfires in California earlier this year, deadly flooding in Texas and highly active hurricane seasons in recent years, Democrats have stepped up their criticism of the Trump administration’s handle on environmental issues.
The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST.
