12:26Now PlayingRep. Eugene Vindman (D-Va.) will speak with reporters Friday morning as he seeks more information from President Trump and his administration on the 2018 assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul.
The pressure comes just days after the president welcomed Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the White House, when they faced questions over the de facto leader’s role in Khashoggi’s death, the Kingdom’s ties to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and other human rights abuses. Trump brushed off criticism of the visit and designated Saudi Arabia as a non-NATO ally.
Vindman earlier this week pushed the White House to release a transcript of Trump’s 2019 phone call with the crown prince, when the two discussed the late Washington Post reporter.
The press conference is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. EST.
