4:11:15Now PlayingHouse lawmakers will convene Wednesday afternoon for debate on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for fiscal year 2026.
The mammoth defense spending bill advanced through the House Rules Committee late Tuesday, despite some GOP pushback over some compromises made with Democrats. The $900 billion NDAA is $8 billion more than President Trump requested in his budget.
If passed, the bill would increase pay for service members, provide some military aid to Ukraine, restrict U.S. investment in China and fully repeal sanctions on Syria, among other things.
Following a vote on the rules later this afternoon, lawmakers will continue debate on the final bill and take up a full floor vote.
Debate is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. EST.
Votes are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
