YouTube Description
as posted by the channelSpeaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and House Republican leaders will speak with reporters Tuesday morning as Affordable Care Act subsidies are set to expire at the end of the month.
GOP lawmakers in the lower chamber of Congress unveiled their own version of a health care bill, which included broadly popular items among the conference — including cost sharing reductions and reforms to the pharmacy benefit manager industry. The proposal, however, did not include the tax credits.
Moderate Republicans, however, came to an agreement with leaders earlier this week to allow a vote on extending the subsidies, but it appears to be on the rocks.
Lawmakers are also facing another government shutdown deadline at the end of January.
The press conference is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EST.
