2:39:42Now PlayingFederal Communications Commission (FCC) Chair Brendan Carr and other officials will testify Wednesday morning before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.
The hearing marks the first time Carr will face questioning after the Trump administration began targeting public broadcasters and the media, including pressuring ABC to take late-night host Jimmy Kimmel off the air earlier this year following his remarks on the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
His stance has drawn bipartisan criticism and raised freedom of speech concerns in the wake of President Trump signaling he could use the FCC to crack down on media coverage that is critical of the administration.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EST.
