30:42Now PlayingSpeaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Republican leaders will speak with reporters Tuesday morning as another government shutdown deadline inches closer.
The House last week passed three appropriations bills with broad bipartisan support, moving lawmakers closer to avoiding an end-of-month partial lapse in funding. The measure has also been advanced in the Senate.
Still, Johnson is under pressure as the GOP majority shrinks following the resignation of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-La.) and the recent death of Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-Calif.). President Trump‘s moves in Venezuela, protests over Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions and the administration‘s slow rolling out of files tied to Jeffrey Epstein have also complicated matters.
The press conference is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EST.
