as posted by the channel

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and GOP leaders will speak with reporters Wednesday morning as lawmakers face a partial government shutdown deadline.

Congress has so far only passed six of the 12 appropriations bills needed to fund the government beyond Jan. 31. Johnson is also faced with a dwindling majority ahead of the 2026 midterms as well as a growing culture of rebellion among the conference.

Their comments also come after Johnson became the first Speaker of the House ever to address the British Parliament. During his speech, he sought to reiterate the relationship between the two nations as the U.S. prepares to celebrate the 250th anniversary of independence.

The press conference is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EST.
