YouTube Description
as posted by the channelDeputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will speak with reporters Friday morning as protests persist in Minnesota following the Trump administration’s ramped up immigration enforcement efforts in the state.
Blanche has defended the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the wake of two fatal shootings of U.S. residents and cast blame on Gov. Tim Walz (D) and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) for the turmoil.
His remarks come after federal authorities arrested journalist Don Lemon, who had drawn scrutiny from the administration in recent days over his coverage of anti-immigration enforcement protests at a church in Minnesota. The former CNN anchor was also among a group who entered a Saint Paul church earlier this month, where demonstrators believed an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent was serving as a pastor.
The press conference at the Justice Department is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. EST.
