3:59:08Now PlayingThe Senate Homeland Security Committee and Governmental Affairs Committee on Thursday morning will hear testimony from the Trump administration and Minnesota officials on federal immigration enforcement efforts in the North Star State.
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison and Minnesota Department of Corrections Commissioner Paul Schnell will testify on the first panel. The second panel will include U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Joseph Edlow, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Rodney Scott and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Acting Director Todd Lyons.
The hearings come two days after the DHS officials were grilled in the House and as ICE and CBP face scrutiny following the fatal shootings of two Minneapolis residents last month by federal agents. Lawmakers are also staring down a potential shutdown for the agencies as funding talks have fizzled.
The event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. EST.
