33:36Now PlayingDefense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine will speak with reporters Wednesday morning, just days after U.S. strikes in Iran over the weekend took out the country's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The Saturday strikes have garnered mixed reactions across the political spectrum. President Trump had been threatening the regime for weeks that military action was possible if a deal around the Middle Eastern nation's nuclear program was not reached.
The initial strike, which also led to the deaths of at least six U.S. service members, sparked a counterattack from Iran on neighboring countries, raising fears of a wider war in the region.
The press conference also comes a day after Secretary of State Marco Rubio briefed lawmakers on Capitol Hill about the military effort, dubbed "Operation Epic Fury."
