33:05Now PlayingDefense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Dan Caine will speak with the media Tuesday morning as tensions with Iran persist following U.S. strikes on the Middle Eastern nation earlier this month.
The Pentagon and President Trump have given conflicting accounts on how long the U.S. conflict with Iran will last in recent days — as officials in Tehran are preparing to dig in for a wider war. Hegseth and other military officials last week outlined an ongoing mission while Trump told reporters Monday that the "excursion" could be coming to a close.
The defense secretary has also not ruled out boots on the ground and acknowledged that there could be more American casualties. At least seven U.S. soldiers have been killed in the Middle East since the Feb. 28 strikes.
