38:07Now PlayingVice President Vance delivered a speech in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on Friday afternoon, visiting a congressional district that Republicans hope to flip in November.
Congressional District 1 was redrawn to give Republicans another pickup opportunity in the state. Laurie Buckhout, a military veteran and career defense official, won the Republican primary this month, setting up a rematch with Rep. Don Davis (D), who beat Buckhout by 1.5 points in 2024.
The district is seen as one of the GOP's best pickup opportunities in what is an uphill battle for the party to maintain its House majority.
Vance has delivered a number of campaign-style speeches this year to sell the Trump administration's economic agenda ahead of the midterms.
His speech on Friday came 13 days into the war in Iran. Politico reported Friday that Vance was a skeptical voice in the White House on the strikes.
Vance was scheduled to speak at 2 p.m. EST.
