The 10-day test flight that is expected to orbit the moon. The crew includes three U.S. astronauts and one other from Canada.
At approximately 6:32 p.m. EDT, NASA launched Artemis II from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. President Trump, ahead of the Wednesday evening launch, celebrated the mission.
"We are WINNING, in Space, on Earth, and everywhere in between — Economically, Militarily, and now, BEYOND THE STARS. Nobody comes close! America doesn’t just compete, we DOMINATE, and the whole World is watching," he wrote on Truth Social. "God bless our incredible Astronauts, God bless NASA, and God bless the Greatest Nation ever to exist, the United States of America!"
