1:04:36Now PlayingWhite House press secretary Karoline Leavitt will brief reporters Wednesday afternoon, a day after President Trump announced another two-week pause on escalating strikes in Iran.
Trump declared the U.S. military operation against Iran a "complete and total victory" earlier Wednesday, after announcing that Tehran had agreed to a two-week ceasefire deal, including reopening the Strait of Hormuz. The agreement came less than two hours before the president's deadline for a deal, when he threatened Tuesday morning that a "whole civilization will die tonight."
The briefing also comes ahead of Trump's meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the White House. The president has recently reupped his threats to withdraw the U.S. from the alliance.
