Rep. Mark Takano (D-CA), confronted the secretary with several recent social media posts from the president's account. The quoted messages included profanity and a threat to Iran's leaders that the U.S. would destroy their civilization, as well as an image widely understood as placing Trump in the role of Jesus.
Rep. Rick Allen (R-GA) later allowed Kennedy time to expand on his confidence in the president's abilities, and the secretary strongly endorsed Trump's skills at negotiation.
