as posted by the channel

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick will testify before the House Appropriations Committee on Thursday morning on President Trump’s fiscal 2027 budget request.

The White House is requesting $9.2 billion in discretionary budget authority for the Commerce Department — a $1.3 billion decrease from 2026 levels, including cuts to climate research grants and other programs deemed “wasteful.”

The hearing comes just over two months after the Supreme Court struck down the bulk of Trump's tariff agenda, which the administration had argued would boost investment and manufacturing within the U.S.

He faced similar questioning before the Senate Appropriations Committee a day earlier.
