1:20:46Now PlayingNASA Administrator Jared Isaacman will testify before the Senate Appropriations Committee on Tuesday morning on President Trump's fiscal 2027 budget request, as the space agency eyes a return to the moon.
The administration is seeking $18.8 billion for NASA in fiscal 2027, a $5.6 billion decrease from the 2026 enacted level. Isaacman has defended the proposed cuts citing the $10 billion allocated for the agency in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
The hearing comes just weeks after NASA completed its Artemis II mission — the first crewed moon mission in more than 50 years — which took the four-person crew further into space than ever before.
