President Trump referred to possible concerns over how the Iran war will impact Republican candidates in November during a Cabinet meeting Wednesday.

Trump said that he believes Iran's leaders were trying to stall negotiations.

“They thought they were going to outwait me, you know, ‘we’ll outwait him, he’s got the midterms,’” the U.S. president told reporters.

“I don’t care about the midterms; look what happened last night, that was the prelude to the midterms,” he said, referring to the Texas Republican Senate primary runoff in which Trump’s favored candidate won big.
