as posted by the channel

President Trump named Bill Pulte, the head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), to serve as the acting Director of National Intelligence.

In tapping Pulte, Trump turns to an ally who has been behind referring several of his foes for prosecution for alleged mortgage fraud. Pulte would replace Tulsi Gabbard, who resigned last month.

Trump also indicated he planned to place him in the role in an acting capacity, a sign Pulte would struggle to gain the Senate confirmation required to serve as Director of National Intelligence.

As the chief intelligence officer helping coordinate among more than a dozen agencies within the intelligence community, it’s also highly unusual for anyone in the role to remain as the head of other agencies.
