1:57:36Now PlayingJay Clayton, President Trump's pick to replace Tulsi Gabbardat the helm of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), will testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Wednesday morning.
Clayton, who previously chaired the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), was nominated to the role after Trump faced pressure over his appointment of Federal Housing Finance Agency Chief Bill Pulte to serve in the acting role. The House and the Senate rejected bills to renew the nation's warrantless spy powers over Pulte, who has referred many of Trump's foes for criminal prosecution over mortgage fraud claims.
Gabbard stepped down from the intelligence chief role at the end of last month citing her husband's cancer diagnosis.
