The press briefing also comes as the war in Iran has intensified in recent days and as the president's crackdown on immigration has reentered the spotlight after multiple fatal shootings by federal officers.
The event marks Leavitt's first briefing since she returned from maternity leave. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President JD Vance, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Dr. Mehmet Oz were among those who stepped up in her absence.
