2:05:00Now PlayingPresident Trump on Friday evening will deliver remarks at the do-over White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) dinner, just months after the first event was disrupted by a gunman looking to target Trump and his administration officials.
The president’s speech, according to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, will be “unifying but vicious.”
The WHCA and Secret Service have ensured there is a “robust” safety plan in place at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Washington, the venue for the make-up dinner. The association will honor both the journalism award winners and a Secret Service agent who was pivotal in thwarting the assassination attempt in April.
A slew of admin officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, FBI Director Kash Patel and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, are also expected to attend.
The event is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., with Trump’s remarks set for 8:55 p.m. EDT.
