El-Sayed has drawn a sharp contrast between his approach to fundraising, which eschews donations from corporate PACs, and that of Stevens, who he claims is now beholden to questionable funders.
But polling also suggests Stevens could stand a better chance of beating the presumptive Republican nominee, former Rep. Mike Rogers (MI), in the general election.
