4:31Now PlayingPresident Trump signaled late Tuesday the U.S. and Iran were close to a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key oil-shipping corridor.
“It could happen. Tomorrow or the next day,” Trump said after traveling to Los Angeles for a fundraising event hosted by the Republican National Committee. “A lot of progress has been made.”
Trump also told Fox News his administration was having “very good discussions” with Iranian officials, adding they had an “all-day negotiation.” He added the Strait of Hormuz “is going to be open very soon.”
