They really want to continue being corrupt corporatists, and know Keith Ellison might hinder that, so they're trying to install an establishment shill like Tom Perez so they can conduct business as usual, but nonetheless, realize—if they're not careful—they're going to piss off progressives yet again. Their ultimate fear is that the DNC Chair race will turn into a Bernie Sanders Vs. Hillary Clinton proxy fight... but they shouldn't worry that it's going to "turn into" a proxy fight, because it's ALREADY just that! Progressives won't back down, and if they're disenfranchised for a second time, they risk losing them (along with the entire millennial generation) forever.
