as posted by the channelMayor Catherine Pugh of Baltimore was recently elected in 2016, and one of her campaign promises was to raise the minimum wage for the people of Baltimore. So when City Council sent her a bill that sought to increase the minimum wage to $15 by 2022, she could have easily fulfilled one of her main campaign promises by signing this bill. However, Mayor Pugh—a Democrat—decided to veto the bill instead, citing right-wing talking points to justify her decision.
