17:38Now PlayingReality Winner is a young woman that has been imprisoned because she reportedly leaked a classified National Security Agency document to The Intercept. The document contains an assessment by the NSA about how Russia allegedly launched a spear-phishing campaign to gain access to U.S. voter data from third-party voting software suppliers. Contrary to popular belief, the document doesn't lend credence to the widespread misconception that Russia hacked voting booths—and actually isn't that surprising to those that followed the Snowden leaks of 2013—but it was still an act of bravery on Winner's part. Even Julian Assange, who has bared the brunt of the Democratic Party's and the media's "Russiagate" story voiced support for Winner's courage, saying "[s]he is a young woman accused of courage in trying to help us know." Assange is 100% correct. Winner shouldn't be imprisoned for what she did, and it's important for us to stand up for whistleblowers and leakers.
