Montana GOP Censors Trans Lawmaker for Condemning Anti-Trans Bill Too Harshly

Montana's Republican Party is accusing their states first and only openly transgender lawmaker, Zooey Zephyr, of breaching decorum by denouncing a proposed ban on gender-affirming care for trans youth too harshly. She bluntly told Republican lawmakers their legislation would kill trans kids, and the Montana Freedom Caucus responded by calling for her "immediate censure." Additionally, Republican House Speaker Matt Regier is refusing to let her comment on any bills for the remainder of the year's legislative session until she agrees to apologize for offending them.
