as posted by the channelThe Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) has amassed more than 60 cosponsors in the U.S. Senate. KOSA is bipartisan legislation sponsored by Senators Marsha Blackburn (R) and Richard Blumenthal (D) aimed at regulating harmful content directed towards kids on social media platforms. The bill was amended to address concerns of digital and civil rights organizations that expressed concerns that the bill would do more harm than good—and disproportionately lead to censorship of life-saving content for LGBTQ+ youth—but the newer version still empowers Republicans at the state level to crackdown on websites they don’t like, and would likely impact adults’ internet usage as well. In this video we’ll talk about both versions of KOSA and the bipartisan support it has in the U.S. Senate.
