YouTube Description
as posted by the channelWyoming resident Brit Boral testified before a committee hearing for her state’s Senate to explain why an anti-trans bill proposed by Republican lawmakers would endanger the safety of women and girls (both trans and cis alike). Before airing her grievances about the bill, she chose to maliciously comply with a different anti-trans policy that called use of preferred pronouns as “compelled speech.” After Boral addressed Republican Chairman Tim French, who voted for the measure, as “Madam Chairman” he immediately demanded she use his preferred title while seemingly not realizing his own policy applies to cis people as well—meaning, his demand was tantamount to “compelled speech” under the policy and forbidden. In this video we’ll talk about this exchange, Brit’s follow-up after going viral and explain why Republicans are hyper-fixated on anti-trans legislation.
