YouTube Description
as posted by the channelJoin Chris and his guest, ret. Homicide Detective Bob Gilliam, as they discuss how a DNA match helped police solve a 33-year-old cold case.
Julia Hernandez-Santiago, 26, was found murdered in Carlsbad, Calif, 36 years ago. On the morning of Oct. 10, 1987, a passerby found Julia’s body on an ivy-covered hillside in a La Costa neighborhood, near Alga Road, in Carlsbad, Calif. The victim had been raped and strangled. The day of the murder, Julia went to a medical appointment. Afterward, she rode a bus back to her neighborhood. She got off the bus, stopped at a store, and was walking home when she was attacked. At the time of the killing, DNA was collected from the victim. But the suspect was unknown. And no arrests were ever made.
