Jeff attempts to prove God's necessity through a syllogism: humans desire "sound minds" free from external influence, such minds don't exist, therefore humanity is "insane." Jeff defines God as that which "relieves us of the responsibility of our insanity." Promise and Owen struggle to follow as Jeff continually shifts definitions and makes logical leaps without evidence. The conversation becomes increasingly frustrating as Promise points out they're "just saying words" without coherent meaning. Despite attempts to clarify, Jeff's argument remains circular and the hosts eventually end the call.
