Raised in deep evangelical culture - church three times weekly, met his wife at church camp, homeschooled his kids - he's recently embraced evolution and other scientific concepts he previously rejected as lies. Now he's struggling to understand transgender identity from a scientific perspective, specifically how gender differs from sex. Hosts Josie and Ben patiently explain the multifaceted nature of gender, breaking it into biological components (sex), psychological aspects (gender identity), and sociological elements (gender expression), plus sexual orientation as a fourth distinct category.
