A young Pentecostal caller named Dave phones in convinced Christianity is the reason we have a moral society — and it goes sideways fast. Matt reads Exodus 21 aloud after Dave misquotes it, exposing that the Bible's "freed after six years" slavery law only applied to Hebrew slaves, while others could be kept for life along with their families. Dave scrambles to reframe it as "not real slavery," gets shut down, then can't explain how morality changed if God supposedly didn't. Darrel steps in and walks Dave through a string of "what would you believe if you were born somewhere else" scenarios, eventually coining the term "Dave-ism" for Dave's uniquely personal theology. Things heat up when Dave brings up his mission trip to Colombia — a country already overwhelmingly Christian thanks to Spanish colonization — and Darrel doesn't let it go. A side bet over $10 ends with a donation to Recovering From Religion, and the hosts close with a fiery riff on the Catholic Church's abuse scandals.
