YouTube Description
as posted by the channelA TYT Nation submission about the electoral college and the problems surrounding the system that we use in the United States. The electoral college, a complicated and controversial system that the United States has used for decades, does not recognize Puerto Rico and other US territories, and does not allow some people to exercise their right to vote. Also, with the "winner take all" system, the probability of a third party gaining any sort of power is highly unlikely. We saw the problems with the 2000 election, but will we see a change to the system any time soon? We allow citizens in space to cast their vote, but not people in US territories? How much does the electoral college system matter on the campaign trail, and for the crucial swing states like Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Florida? This is an important conversation to have. What are the problems that you see with the electoral college, and what solutions/alternatives do you propose? Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
