How to Bake Perfect Chocolate Cake: Back to Earth EP #2

The greatest Chocolate Cake ever! Episode #2 of Back to Earth, which is focused on natural, healthy, compassionate eating and living. Most videos will be recipes on glorious meals and goodies that dispel the myth that good food can't be good for you. All recipes are vegan, but you don't have to be vegan to try them. Hope you enjoy.

For my chocolate cake you will need the following ingredients:

Dry =

1 and 1/2 cups whole wheat white unbleached all purpose flour (preferably organic of course but we do the best we can)

1 cup organic raw sugar

1/3 cup cocoa powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

Wet=

1 cup warm water

1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/3 cup almond milk

2 Tbsp vegan butter spread (preferably Earth Balance)

1/2 cup organic unsweetened applesauce (add last)

Mix dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately, then combine together.

Pour into buttered cake pan of your choice.

bake at 375 degrees F for about 35 minutes

Frosting ingredients:

3 cups of powdered sugar

3 Tbsp vegan butter

3 Tbsp cocoa powder

3-5 Tbsp almond milk

1 tsp vanilla extract (or 1 and 1/2 tsp if you want plain vanilla and don't add cocoa)
