"Ted Cruz and his wife Heidi Cruz held a conference call today with the campaign’s National Prayer Team, and both of them expressed their deep sorrow at having lost the Republican race.
But according to the Texas Tribune, Heidi Cruz made a truly curious comment likening her husband’s struggle to the fight to end slavery, amid her remarks about how much they have “changed” the GOP
She said that none of them should feel like their efforts were “in vain” and “God does not work in four-year segments.”
And then Cruz said this:
“Be full of faith and so full of joy that this team was chosen to fight a long battle. Think that slavery — it took 25 years to defeat slavery. That is a lot longer than four years.”
