YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThe December jobs report under Trump came in worse than expected: just 50,000 jobs added, compared to 70,000 economists were expecting. The unemployment rate now sits at 4.4% — but the real story is what kind of jobs were created, and how previous months were quietly revised down.
In this video, I break down how Trump’s so‑called “strong economy” actually looks when you read past the headline:
• Only 50,000 jobs added vs 70,000 expected
• Unemployment at 4.4% as growth slows
• 38,000 of the 50,000 new jobs were in healthcare and social assistance
• October revised down by 68,000 jobs, from -105,000 to -173,000
• November revised down from +64,000 to +56,000
When almost all your “job growth” is in healthcare and social assistance, that’s not a booming economy — that’s an economy where more people need help because they’re sick, broke, or in crisis. It’s triage, not prosperity.
Trump loves to brag about the “best economy ever,” but the numbers say something very different:
• Weak job growth missing already modest expectations
• Prior months quietly revised to look worse after the news cycle moves on
• An economy increasingly reliant on crisis and care work to hold people together
This is what Trump’s economic policies really look like for working people — insecurity, downward revisions, and job growth in sectors that expand when the public is hurting.
I’ll walk through the data, explain why these revisions matter, and show how this fits into the broader pattern of MAGA economics: big talk, bad numbers, and ordinary Americans paying the price.
